Nyrop, B.C. Nyrop, Borge Nyrop born 1881-1948

Borge Nyrop studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen and with Simon in Paris. He exhibited at the prestigious Charlottenborg Palace after 1907 as well as at numerous other major exhibitions. Nyrop was awarded the important Sodring Medal 1907 and the equally esteemed Neuhausen Medal 1911. Works by Borge Nyrop can be found in important public and private collections such as the Workers Museum in Copenhagen, the Ingrid Jespersen Collection and the City Collection of Frederikshavn. A recent sale at Sotheby’s in London shows the substantial price development for works by Nyrop: a Paris scene, 27 by 24 inches, sold for a hammer price of $ 36,428 in 1998.
