Willem de Zwart (16 May 1862 The Hague - 11 December 1931 The Hague), A.K.A. Wilhelmus Hendrikus Petrus Johannes Zwart, was a Dutch Painter and a member of the Hague School. Willem de Zwart (1862 - 1931) Willem de Zwart was a painter, etcher and drawer . He is mostly known for his use of bright colours, which make him easily recognisable within the group of the Haagse School. His oeuvre consists of a broad range of subjects including landscapes, portraits, still-lifes and city scenes. He worked in a Naturalistic-Impressionistic style. Besides his painting, he was also well-known for his etchings. During his life he received many awards for his work.
